Travel to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro is an innovative experiment in multiple land use, as the park has multiple purposes of integrating the protection of the local people with that of wild nature, the latter being divided into two distinct biogeographical systems. The vast plains in the west and north are a part of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of the natural wonders of the world. Astonishingly, the crater floor is a natural sanctuary for almost all the large mammalian species essential to the East African plains. Its climaxes include one of Tanzania’s most viable populations of the critically endangered black or browse rhino, and it is also here that the density of great predators, headed by hyenas and lions, is the highest in the world

Travel to Serengeti
Serengeti is the only lingering natural grazing ecosystem in the world. The vast open plains in the heart of the multifarious stretch away as far as the eye can see and throb with life in an endless almanac rhythm that is sustained by a migrating herd of more than 1.4 million gnus and the best-branded population of great predators, lions and spotted hyenas on the frontline to be found on earth. The giant Nile crocodiles are waiting for their turn as the big migration enters their areas. The richness of the wild fauna of Serengeti is dazzling, but it is all living in the rhythm of the seasons, with a range of variation that extends from exuberance to misery.

Travel to Manyara
Manyara is an astonishing oasis in the Great Rift Valley. While the valley is thousands of kilometers long, it is merely here that the high-water table fed by countless springs from the escarpment has risen to a dense tropical vegetation, a forest brought about by a superfluity of groundwater. However, Manyara is abundant. Its evergreen forests, park-like savanna dotted with acacias, and open plains stretching down to the lake shores, organized with the rugged wall of the Rift Valley as a backdrop, make Manyara into a microcosm of Tanzania’s natural environment.

Travel to Rubondo
Rubondo Island, located on the southwest shores of Lake Victoria, features over 75% virgin equatorial rainforest, making it a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. Established as a game reserve in 1965 and designated a national park in 1977, it spans 456.8 km². The island hosts various animals, including hippos, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, and notably, 16 West African chimpanzees released by Professor Bernhard Grzimek in the late 1960s.
Birdlife is abundant, with the largest population of African fish eagles in the world, as well as species like Sacred Ibis and martial eagles. The park’s varied landscapes include forests, grasslands, and sandy beaches, offering activities like chimpanzee trekking, bird watching, and canoeing.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from June to October and December to February for clear animal sightings, while the wet season from March to May offers vibrant flora and migratory bird watching.
Other wild animals of Rubondo Island National Park include hippos, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, genets, dik-diks, and mongooses, which share their habitat with chimpanzees, spotted-necked otters, black-and-white colobus monkeys, elephants, and giraffes. Various bird species, including African fish eagles—whose population on this island is the largest in the world—are also present. Other birds worth seeing are Sacred Ibis, martial eagles, saddle-billed storks, bee-eaters, hornbills, coucals, and sunbirds.
Rubondo Island National Park has a rich diversity composed of semi-deciduous and mixed evergreen forests, along with woodlands, open grassland, acacia trees, rocky areas, and sandy beaches. It offers various activities such as chimpanzee trekking, guided nature walks, canoeing, bird watching, sport fishing, and shoreline pursuits.
